iCON is a robust , modular, scalable, redundant industrial controller, envisaged for process industries. It embeds Linux OS with real time functionality, to augment the system for real-time applications.

iFace is an easy to use, full featured, web based HMI that enables full control and visualization capabilities over intranet. Any Web Browser supporting Adobe Flash Player V.10. can run iFACE. iROC is used to configure iSmart and iCON, the industrial controllers which support DACS (Proprietary Protocol) developed by CDAC (T). Third party devices which support Modbus TCP, DNP3 TCP, IEC60870-5-104 can also be configured. iDLog, logs real time tag values at pre-defined intervals.

iStec –Industrial Steam temperature control

istecThe highest level of work efficiency in a coal fired thermal plant can be achieved by maintaining the highest possible steam temperature. If it can be done then they can be pushed closer to the set point value of 541oCleading to higher enthalpy of steam and maximum power generation. In the conventional control methodsthere is large process lag (about 8-10 minutes), it takes a long time to estimate whether the amount of spray/fuel is appropriate or not.iStec offers a comprehensive integrated mathematical model for the boiler and a Kalman filter based steam temperature prediction control system to reduce the steam temperature deviation to as low as +/-3oC.

 

iComs-Industrial Coal Mill Soft Sensor:-

icomsThe objective of controlling a mill is to regulate the amount of coal being grounded in such a manner that the burners get proper amount of pulverized fuel to meet the required loads, while maintaining the mill’s own optimum operation. On the other hand, the implementation of efficient master pressure control system for the boiler needs the measurement of the pulverized coal flow, which is not at all measured in many thermal power plant and as a result the master pressure control system for the boiler emits very poor efficiency. iCOMS is an innovative R&D endeavour in this direction where, a pulverized coal flow soft sensor is developed for real time implementation in the SCADA system.

Phasor Measurement Unit – Synchronized Phasor Measurement Unit

A Phasor Measurement Unit (PMU) is used to estimate a sinusoidal quantity in a power system in the form of complex number. Phasor measurements that occurs at the same time are called Synchro Phasors. Extremely accurate, common timing signals from Global Positioning System (GPS) are used to synchronize the phasor measurements by PMUs dispersed over a wider area.
